Kennedy Campaign Button & Ribbon

2 1/8" RWB First For Kennedy, alledgedly from the JFK campaign. Not listed in Hake. Revers shows rust spot on left of pin by blue ribbon. Rear pin type is of that period but is it truly JFK? Any other real possibilities?

Thanks, Jerry.

  1. Hi,

Looks like an interesting piece. I do not believe it is a JFK piece as it has not been documented in the references compiled by the Kennedy Political Items collectors club in the APIC. They have done a very good job of identifying all known JFK and RFK items. Personally I would guess it is a New Hampshire piece from the 1980 democratic primary (Edward Kennedy) as I believe NH was the first primary that year. There were a lot of pins for Teddy that year as he mounted a serious challenge to Carter. I will do a bit more research and ask a few Kennedy specialists. I can be reached at ron.puechner@att.net
