Ted Kennedy Unique Item

Submitted by Matt:

I have a model of th F-16XL delta wing airplane that was created by General Dynamics in 1980 for Senator Ted Kennedy. General Dynamics created models for each of the senators at that time as a sales piece to try and sell full scale production to the US Government. The model that I have was creates specifically for Sen. Ted Kennedy and has his name on the base as well as each side of the cockpit where the pilot's name goes. I understand that Ted Kennedy refused the model as he had no intention of supporting the purchase of the production plane. This model was given back to General Dynamics and has been passed through to me.

Matt would be interested in opinions on value and offers to purchase

Ronald Reagan Inaugural Carpet

Submitted by Tammy:

It is a swatch of carpet from President Reagan's inauguration. The company I worked for at the time provided the carpeting for the inauguration and gave some of their employees this souvenir. I have kept this for some number of years. . The tag on the carpet swatch reads: When President Reagan celebrated his inauguration, Galaxy was there. And here's a souvenir. This is a sample of the Galaxy carpet actually installed and walked on at one of President Reagan's official inaugural balls.

Tammy would like to know if the item has any value.

World Trade Center Artifact

Submitted by Seth:

I have a piece of the World Trade Center South Tower #2, it’s from the original construction. My grandfather was Irving Galt, he was the Assistant Attorney General for New York in the 70’s under Louis J. Lefkowitz, the Attorney General of New York. My grandparents raised me and I spent a lot of time in the Towers when I was a kid, my grandfather had one of the original offices on the 47th floor. He gave it to me when I was 5 years old, it’s been on my desk my whole life.

Not a typical political memorabilia item but one we thought would stir some interest and debate as to its value. Seth is interested in helping in valuing the item or offers to buy or auction the item. The photos include one of WTC identification cards from the grandfather.

Lincoln Inauguration Badge

Submitted by Tim:
Tim acquired this Lincoln Inauguration Badge this week. He is not sure of its value or if it is an original and would appreciate any help from knowledgeable collectors. He was told that the item belonged to an "old ladies husband" along with other Lincoln items he collected. He does not believe it is a ferro and believes it has brush marks on the picture like someone brushed the gel coat on the picture, and wonders if this is normal.

Is it real? Is it a fake? If he sells it will he get enough for a Mcdonald's hamburger or a week in Paris? If you can help, or would like to make an offer to purchase, please click on the "comment" button or email us at appraisals@loriferber.com
